Studies Director position Consumer Sensory Insights – Qual and Quant – FMCG Role


KOS Research, headquartered in Paris, is a Market Research firm offering marketing and sensory services towards consumers. Two of the co- founders have a recognized expertise: Walther Oettgen (ex-founder of H20 market research firm) and Marc Danzart (Emeritus AgroParistech Professor). The main specifities of KOS are: (i) development of ad-hoc methods to our customers, (ii) strong research and development orientation (partnership with university research lab), (iii) tangible recommendations and (iv) international dynamics.

Most of our clients operate in sectors: food&beverages and cosmetics.


The successful candidate will be / have:

  • Current studies Director / Or Senior Research Manager (at least 6-8 years of experience in the market research field)
  • Large experience in managing global projects (in France and abroad) ; high level (or native) in English
  • Tertiary qualifications with more than 8 years’ experience in marketing / sensory research methodologies and consumer science, particularly in FMCG and/or food – cosmetic industry
  • An in-depth knowledge of sensory/consumer research – descriptive and discrimination testing, qualitative panels & focus groups
  • Advanced skills in research design, statistical application and modeling
  • Strong ability to collate and integrate multiple pieces of information, looking for trends and emerging insights, pulling a meaningful ‘story’ or outcome
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and good organizational skills
  • Qualifications or training in coaching and leadership are a bonus
  • Rigourous, autonomous and enthousiast


  • Be part of the Board of Directors for KOS studies operations
  • Leading and applying quantitative and qualitative sensory research methodologies
  • Managing external research suppliers
  • Managing and coaching a team
  • Providing guidance and training to internal clients in order to raise the innovation bar through insight generation
  • Encouraging the use of innovative sensory and consumer research methodologies
  • Working with cross-functional colleagues to deliver consumer insights and contribute to the company’s business success
